The starting point of the series Come Closer is an exploration of closeness as an ambivalent experience—situated between care and control, desire and imposition.
The paintings depict moments of physical intimacy, such as braiding hair, embraces, kisses, and tears. Whether these scenes also convey emotional closeness remains an open question. Intimacy emerges as a fragile process of negotiation, one that can shift or unravel at any moment.
